Historically Medbrook Children’s Charity focused on funding programs and avoided investments into brick-and-mortar projects. Over the years we have been presented numerous opportunities but none of them truly symbolized the vision and sense of community that Medbrook Children's Charity represents.



In 2022 Medbrook Children's Charity was presented with an opportunity to be part of an incredible project - one that says loud and clear that every child matters regardless of their physical, mental, or emotional challenges. 

Medbrook Children's Charity is extremely proud to join the city of Bridgeport in the construction of an all-inclusive playground. This one-of-a-kind playground will be a centerpiece to The Bridge Sports Complex at Charles Pointe. This $1.3 million playground is the crowning achievement for our charity.

Founder Dr. Kelly Nelson summarized Medbrook Children’s Charity involvement by saying “Every child has a fundamental need to engage in play. Play is a vital part of a child’s development and a key factor in how they come to understand the world around them; their place in this world; and how the world relates to them. This inclusive playground will open that opportunity to many children that have been denied this basic need through no fault of their own.”
